WHAT LOVE

What Love …
A little babe in manger lay
mother beside Him — with love did gaze
upon her babe in swaddling clothes
The Son of God — an angel disclosed
What love
What faith
What gift divine
Sent from Heaven for all mankind.

What love
This willing Savior gave
so I could gaze upon that tree
that took Him at Calvary.
What love
given to set me free
from these earthly bonds –
He rescued me
What love.

What love
Our Heavenly Father showed
when He turned His face
from this Son of Man —
His one and only Son He gave.
Would I do the same
with a son of mine?
No…
I could not stand the pain
the stain
that evil inflicted upon my lamb
My precious lamb from God.

What love…
I cannot comprehend.
