LANTERN & ANCHOR

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God… I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.    Isaiah 41:10

The saying goes – “It’s always darkest before the storm”.  That may be  true, but the storm tosses you back and forth, crashing you into the unknown while you frantically try to get your feet back on solid ground.
The darkness brings with it the fear of the unknown;
The storm the anguish of the known.
In the storm you try to grab hold of anything solid to keep you from being flung about like a rag doll; The darkness keeps you trying to grasp the mist.  You know it’s there when you grab for it… then it evaporates before your very eyes slipping away untouched.
How does one survive the darkness that creeps into ones life unwanted and unbidden?  What does one do when the storms of life threaten to send you crashing into unwanted territory?
The answer is obvious… You need to have a Lantern to light your way when the darkness descends… And an Anchor to keep you weighted to one spot so you won’t be tossed to and fro in the fray.
Years ago I found my lantern “the Light of the world” and my anchor “upon this Rock I will build my church” in Jesus Christ.
I found that as long as I kept my eyes focused on Him, then my path was lit up brightly so I could see the way clearly.  His love continues to light my way through some very dark oppressive tunnels, always bringing me safely through to the other side.
Through all the storms that have raged around me trying to knock me off my feet, His Word has always anchored me to that solid rock.  He never lets go of my hand and He never will because He has told me… “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”
Are you groping in the darkness?
Do you feel like your being tossed about like a rag doll?
Jesus is waiting for you with His lantern and His anchor.

If you let Him I guarantee you will never be afraid of the dark, or be tossed about by the storms of life again. 
