THE DUST OF HIS FEET!

The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. Nahum 1:3b

Whirlwind… “A situation or series of events where a lot of things happen very quickly.”
Whirlpool… “Water in swift, circular motion, as that produced by the meeting of opposing currents, often causing a downward spiraling action.

Do you sometimes feel like you are in a Whirlwind or a Whirlpool?

Have you ever seen lumbermen on rolling logs amongst thousands of other logs keeping their feet moving while undoing any logjams with a long pole that helps to keep all the logs moving downstream to the mill. One misstep would cause them to fall into the waters, the logs would close quickly over them making it impossible to get back up or out of the fast moving current. What a skill to learn and what courage to step out into this danger? A strong faith in their ability and agility would be needed to beat the odds in such dangerous working conditions.
This has me thinking about courageous Christians who step out into the swirling wind and water of our paganistic world. They are constantly moving in a dedicated focus of obedience with the tools Jesus has provided. Their faith in His empowerment into their lives gives them the ability and agility to work under dangerous circumstances.
This world is in a spiritual war between good and evil unequaled to any other time in history. We are God’s workers. His Saints standing on the logjam. With God’s power behind us, He will enable us to keep others from falling into the whirlpool of everlasting Hell.
Nahum 1:3b tells us plainly that Jesus is in control of the whirlwind and troubles of our lives. I love the picture that comes to my mind with the words … “the clouds are the dust of His feet.”
What hope this gives to mankind as we turn to the only One with the power to overcome all the storms of our lives.
“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
How many lost souls have fallen off the log where the fast moving current of this world swallows them up into the whirlpool of death and destruction. Often good people sit back in their easy chairs and do nothing thinking it is someone else’s job.
Think about this quote by Paul Harvey … “Too many Christians are no longer fishers of men but keepers of the aquarium.”
We are all called to be Christ’s soldiers, so put your feet to the ground and start running into the whirlwind. Follow the dust from Jesus feet and stay on the topside of the log! 

Every five minutes a Christian is martyred for his or her faith.
